Olympiacos Sparta Prague Europa League Imanol Alguacil football

Olympiacos is set to host Sparta Prague at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium for the third matchday of the Europa League League Phase. Following a 1-0 victory against Marseille, the Greek side aims to maintain a perfect record in the competition and secure a third consecutive win.

Head coach Imanol Alguacil has described the upcoming match as being “like a final,” emphasizing the need for a victory and respect for an opponent that possesses physical strength and tactical intelligence. While Olympiacos is in excellent form with five consecutive wins across all competitions, they will be without key players Kostas Fortounis and Leon Bailey due to injury.

Sparta Prague also enters the match undefeated in the competition but faces its own challenges, including the absence of several key players such as Karambet, Rines, Sevinski, and Mercado. The match is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, at 22:00 local time, with Norwegian referee Espen Eskås appointed to officiate.
