Olympiacos defeats Iraklis 78-68 in GBL season opener

Olympiacos secured a 78-68 victory against Iraklis in the opening match of the Stoiximan GBL season.

Following the match, Iraklis coach Zoran Lukic praised Olympiacos as the best team this season, noting that while his team started well, they lost connection at critical moments. Lukic expressed satisfaction that his squad managed to limit a high-scoring Olympiacos to 78 points, despite missing free throws and open shots.

A standout performer for Olympiacos was 22-year-old guard Nikos Plotas. Stepping in for Gian Mounero, who was sidelined due to mononucleosis, Plotas contributed 7 points, two assists, and a block in ten minutes of play. His performance provided depth to the rotation, allowing coach Giorgos Bartzokas to manage the minutes of primary guards like Cody Miller-McIntyre.
