Olympiacos defeats Panathinaikos 1-0 in Greek Super League derby

Olympiacos secured a 1-0 victory against Panathinaikos in the Greek Super League derby held at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium. The decisive goal was scored in the 34th minute by Panagiotis Retsos, who was also noted for his dominant defensive performance throughout the match.

Despite being reduced to ten men following the dismissal of Manolis Saliakas in the 66th minute, Olympiacos maintained their lead. Panathinaikos, led by coach Jacob Neestrup, struggled to capitalize on their numerical advantage, failing to create significant scoring opportunities and showing a lack of offensive cohesion.

Olympiacos manager Imanol Alguacil expressed satisfaction with his team's determination, while Neestrup admitted that his side deserved the loss, noting that Panathinaikos often played reactively rather than proactively.
