Olympiacos eyes Brazilian centre‑back Vinícius Souza

Greek club Olympiacos, coached by José Luis Mendilibar, has added Brazilian central defender Vinícius Souza to its transfer shortlist. Mendilibar wants a tall, physically strong centre‑back who can also play as a defensive midfielder. Souza, 27, is currently under contract with VfL Wolfsburg until 2030 and is valued at about €7 million. He joined Wolfsburg after a €15 million move from Sheffield United last summer; earlier transfers included €12.5 million from Lommel and €2.5 million from KAA Lommel when he left the Belgian side. Souza has previously played for Sheffield United in the Premier League, Lommel in Belgium, Espanyol in Spain and other clubs. A prior offer from Cologne was rejected. Olympiacos continues to pursue the defender as part of its squad‑strengthening plans.
