Olympiacos defeats Volos 3-2 in Greek Cup behind Armando González
Olympiacos secured a 3-2 victory against Volos NFC in the second round of the Greek Cup League Phase. Mexican forward Armando “La Hormiga” González was the standout performer, scoring two goals and providing one assist. His second goal came via a header in the 50th minute, while Gustavo Puerta also scored on his debut for the club.
Despite the win, discussions regarding the future of manager José Luis Mendilibar continue amid internal club atmosphere and recent administrative changes. Additionally, Olympiacos announced an agreement with AEK to use the SUNEL Arena as their temporary home for basketball matches while renovations continue at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF), which is expected to last until early 2027.
