Olympiacos falls 3-2 to Alkmaar in Dutch pre‑season friendly

Olympiacos concluded its pre‑season preparations with two friendly matches in the Netherlands. In the match against Dutch side Alkmaar, Olympiacos opened the scoring through El Kambi in the 24th minute and added a second goal with a header from Karmo. Alkmaar responded with three goals in a 16‑minute span: Merktink equalised from a Patati assist in the 72nd minute, a Brazilian player restored parity five minutes later, and Merktink completed the comeback from the penalty spot after a foul on Dany Garthia in the 87th minute. The game ended 3‑2 in favor of Alkmaar, marking a loss for Olympiacos after having led 2‑0.

The Dutch tour also featured other Greek clubs, with OFI losing 4‑0 to Gokhan Igls and other results from the Greek teams' preparation matches.
