Olympiacos goalkeeper Balša Popović discusses transfer and club goals

Montenegrin goalkeeper Balša Popović has expressed his enthusiasm regarding his transfer to Olympiacos, describing the club as a ‘Champions League level organization.’ In an interview with Meridian Sport, Popović detailed how the move came to fruition following previous negotiations that failed to materialize last year while he was playing for OFK Beograd.

Popović credited Darko Kovačević and former Olympiacos player Stevan Jovetić for providing crucial support and guidance during his transition to Piraeus. He noted that Jovetić provided both professional and personal assistance, helping him adapt quickly to the city and the club.

Looking ahead, Popović stated that while the team missed out on the Champions League, they aim to progress as far as possible in the Europa League. Domestically, the club’s objective is to achieve the double. He also highlighted the opportunity to learn from the experience of teammate Stefan Ortega, noting Ortega’s valuable background at clubs such as Manchester City.
