Olympiacos launches European campaign and reveals new season squad numbers

Olympiacos is set to begin the 2026/27 season with its first European match in three years, entering the third qualifying round of the Champions League under coach Jose Luis Mendilibar. The club has secured a minimum place in the Europa League group stage, guaranteeing at least ten European fixtures and potentially twelve if it eliminates Napoli in the qualifiers.

The club also announced the jersey numbers for the new squad. Goalkeeper Stefan Ortega will wear No 1, while the defence includes Smajlović (4), Pirólá (5), Karmo (6) and newcomer Saliakas (2). Midfielders feature Gustavo Sa (8), Fortounis (7), Zota Silva (20) and others. Forward Agioub El Kambis retains No 9, with Giannitsos (11), Masouras (19) and additional players completing the roster ahead of the opening match against Naïmegen on 4 May.
