Olympiacos offers Thomas Walkup a €1.5 M per‑year extension as Dubai BC proposes a higher bid
Greek basketball club Olympiacos is negotiating a new contract for U.S. guard Thomas Walkup, whose current deal runs until the summer of 2027. The club has reportedly submitted a three‑year extension offer worth about €1.5 million per season, aiming to keep the player on its roster.
At the same time, Dubai Basketball Club from the United Arab Emirates has entered the race, putting forward a more lucrative three‑year proposal that could total €2.5‑3 million per year. The Emirati offer is described as a “ground‑breaking” package that would surpass Olympiacos’s terms and includes a considerable financial incentive.
Olympiacos retains an activation clause for fellow player Cory Joseph, which would be triggered should Walkup depart. Both parties are in active talks, and a decision is expected soon.
