Olympiacos plagued by defensive lapses after conceding nine goals in six friendlies

Greek club Olympiacos played six pre‑season friendly matches in which it failed to keep a clean sheet, conceding nine goals—all scored in the final 20 minutes of the games. The goals came against Anderlecht (three), AZ Alkmaar (three), Ajax (one), Raków Częstochowa (one) and Leuven (one), following second‑half substitutions that appeared ineffective.

Club commentator Kostas Nikolakopoulos highlighted the pattern, noting the team’s inability to adjust defensively despite early leads, fatigue in the latter stages, and the lack of effective response to opponent changes. He warned that the issues need urgent attention before Olympiacos’s first official match of the season against a Dutch side.
