Olympiacos nears record signing of Gustavo Puerta

Olympiacos is finalizing the signing of Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta, a move expected to be the most expensive in the history of Greek football. Reports indicate the club has activated a release clause of approximately €16 million from Racing Santander. Various scenarios involve Nottingham Forest, with some reports suggesting Forest may acquire the player and loan him to Olympiacos.

Puerta, 23, was seen at Bilbao airport traveling to Greece for medical examinations. His career includes stints at Bayer Leverkusen, Nuremberg, and Hull City.

In domestic competition, Olympiacos secured a 1-0 victory against Asteras Tripolis with a goal from Zota Silva. The win brings the team to a 2x2 start in the Stoiximan Super League. The match also saw notable performances from Manolis Salikas and Zinedin Smiljanić.
