Olympiacos signs Swiss midfielder Remo Freiermatter

Olympiacos has officially announced the signing of 34-year-old Swiss international midfielder Remo Freiermatter. The player joins the Piraeus-based club on a free transfer from Bologna.

Freiermatter brings extensive top-flight experience to the squad, having made 301 appearances in Serie A and competing in the Champions League and Europa League. His previous clubs include Atalanta, Nottingham Forest, and Bologna. He has also earned 94 caps for the Swiss national team.

Following his medical examinations, the midfielder expressed enthusiasm for the move, citing the intense atmosphere at the club as a key factor in his decision. This marks the first addition to the Olympiacos roster during the current transfer window under manager José Luis Mendilibar.
