Olympiacos defeats Jagiellonia 2-1 in Europa League opener FAST-MOVING
Olympiacos secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Jagiellonia Białystok in their Europa League League Phase opener at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium. After falling behind in the 20th minute to a goal by Schmidt, the Greek side responded with an equalizer from Armando González in the 44th minute. Roman Yaremchuk ultimately secured the win with a header in the 84th minute.
The victory marks a successful start for new head coach Imanol Alguacil. Beyond the three points, the win earned the club an estimated 450,000 euros in UEFA prize money, contributing to their projected minimum guaranteed revenue of over 13 million euros from the competition.
