Olympiacos women's football team promotes breast cancer awareness

The Olympiacos women's football team has launched an awareness initiative to promote breast cancer prevention and early diagnosis. As part of the Pink October campaign, the athletes participated in a symbolic training session to highlight the importance of health education.

Breast surgeon Fioriota Poulakaki joined the team to discuss preventative measures and the necessity of establishing a culture of regular check-ups, particularly among younger women. Dr. Poulakaki emphasized that there is no single definitive test, but rather a combination of methods tailored to individual needs. She noted that ultrasound is a primary tool for younger women, while mammograms become essential for those aged 35 and older, potentially supplemented by MRI and clinical examinations as women age.
