Olympic weightlifter Carlos Nasar becomes Bulgaria's tourism ambassador

Olympic, world and European weight‑lifting champion Carlos Nasar has accepted an invitation from Bulgarian Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitarov to serve as a tourism ambassador for Bulgaria. He will appear alongside the 2026 Eurovision winner DARA to present the country to an international audience.

The campaign, organised by the Ministry of Tourism, will feature well‑known Bulgarians from sport, music, culture and the arts sharing personal stories and favourite places. During the launch, Minister Dimitarov gave Nasar a statuette bearing the Bulgarian rose, saying, "Bulgaria needs its champions… let the world see our country not only as a beautiful destination but as a state with history, spirit and personalities." Nasar replied, "Our country is dear to all of us, beautiful and deserves to be seen by more people worldwide."
