Olympique de Marseille coach praises youth integration
Olympique de Marseille manager Bruno Genesio has expressed satisfaction with the performance of young players following a period of limited transfer activity. Due to financial constraints, the club was unable to recruit new players during the summer market, forcing a reliance on academy talent and existing squad members.
Genesio noted that the integration of youth players has provided more tactical options and increased internal competition within the group. He specifically highlighted the inclusion of 18-year-old Antoine Valero, who was called up to the professional squad following strong performances with the reserve team.
In addition to the emergence of young talent, the club is seeing the return of several key players from injury, including Nayef Aguerd, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, CJ Egan-Riley, and Geoffrey Kondogbia. This squad depth comes as Marseille looks to build on recent domestic successes ahead of their Europa League fixture against Sturm Graz.
