Olympique de Marseille coach shift: Beye's exit and Genesio's first recruit
Habib Beye, the Senegalese coach of Olympique de Marseille, remains under contract until June 2027 but has failed to meet the club’s targets, including a Champions League qualification. With the arrival of Bruno Genesio slated for summer 2026, the club has yet to make an official decision, leaving Beye in limbo amid financial concerns from UEFA and the DNCG.
At the same time, Genesio’s first expected reinforcement is Argentine defender Facundo Medina, formerly of RC Lens, who has impressed at the 2026 World Cup with Argentina. Medina’s performances – including a decisive assist to Lionel Messi – have raised his profile as a potential key signing for Marseille once the coaching change is finalized.
