Olympique de Marseille faces internal friction with young players

Olympique de Marseille is experiencing tension involving its youth prospects. Victor Joseph, a young player recruited to progress toward the professional squad, has reportedly been sidelined from the Pro 2 reserve team. While the club cites concerns regarding his attitude and behavior within the group, Joseph’s representatives claim his exclusion follows an altercation with a Pro 2 official.

Simultaneously, 18-year-old forward Antoine Valero is reportedly seeking a departure from the club. Despite scoring goals for the reserve team, Valero has not convinced head coach Bruno Genesio to include him in the first-team rotation. The situation is complicated by Valero’s refusal to sign a professional contract, as he seeks further sporting guarantees. Several clubs, including Real Betis, Racing Club de Lens, and Nottingham Forest, are reportedly monitoring his situation.
