Olympique de Marseille pursues West Ham defender Jean-Clair Todibo despite financial obstacles
Olympique de Marseille have identified French centre‑back Jean‑Claude Todibo as a target after his West Ham United side were relegated to the Championship. Todibo has expressed a desire to leave the English club and refuses to play in the second tier.
West Ham have rejected loan offers and are demanding a permanent transfer, valuing the player at around €22 million. The defender is under contract until 2029, giving the English club strong negotiating leverage. Marseille, whose budget is limited, have struggled to meet the price, and coach Bruno Genesio confirmed his approval of the player’s profile. As a result, the move remains stalled pending a viable financial solution.
