Olympique de Marseille transfer saga: agent dispute and new targets
Olympique de Marseille is active in the summer transfer window, looking to replace departing goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli, who is expected to join Manchester City. The club has identified Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes as a primary candidate, with reports confirming his interest.
Marseille is also targeting right‑back Saël Kumbedi from Wolfsburg (price around €8 million) and defender Alidu Seidu from Rennes. In addition, Spanish side Real Sociedad has expressed interest in defender Nayef Aguerd, though no formal offer has been made.
To speed up player sales, Marseille handed several transfer mandates to the agency Unique Sports Group. Agents say the move reduces their commission share and undermines control over client moves, describing the method as “braquing” the players’ entourages. The agency’s involvement has added complexity to the club’s effort to trim its wage bill.
