Olympique de Marseille seeks €45m Rowe sale while Benatia remains key transfer adviser

Olympique de Marseille could earn €4.5 million from a proposed €45 million transfer of English forward Jonathan Rowe, who moved to Bologna after leaving the club. The fee would trigger a 10 percent sell‑on clause retained by OM from the €16.5 million they paid for Rowe in August 2024.

Former sporting director Medhi Benatia, although no longer under contract, is still regarded by analysts and club officials as an influential adviser on international deals. Commentators note his network complements the new director Gregory Lorenzi, who lacks overseas contacts, and the club president confirmed Benatia remains in contact with Marseille officials.
