Olympique Lyonnais faces transfer decisions and squad management challenges

Olympique Lyonnais (OL) is navigating a shift in priorities regarding squad management and transfer activity. While the club previously engaged in high-stakes bidding wars for young talents like Kévin Danois, current focus has moved toward maintaining stability amidst significant player absences, including Openda, Ouédraogo, Nakamura, and Kango.

On the transfer front, the club may see the departure of Nicolas Tagliafico. The Argentine defender, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is reportedly a target for Juventus, who are seeking a new left-back. A move could provide OL with financial relief by reducing his salary. Meanwhile, Zachary Athekame continues to impress on loan from AC Milan, though he is expected to remain in Lyon until the end of the season.
