Olympique Lyonnais reserve loses friendly against Espaly

The Olympique Lyonnais (OL) reserve team suffered a 2-1 defeat in a friendly match against Espaly. Despite the loss, the match was organized to maintain competitive rhythm during a break in the amateur championships caused by the Coupe de France.

Coach Gueïda Fofana had to manage a significantly depleted squad, as six regular starters—Matthias Da Silva, Noham Kamara, Tiago Gonçalves, Adil Hamdani, Rémi Himbert, and Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez—were away on international duty with their respective youth selections.

Nehemie Lurika scored for the Lyon side to provide an early lead, but Espaly managed to overturn the result with two goals in the second half. The match also featured Paul Akouokou, who continues to gain experience by playing with the reserve group.
