Olympique Lyonnais secured a 2-1 victory against OGC Nice at Groupama Stadium during the seventh round of Ligue 1, moving to the top of the league standings. Nice opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Elye Wahi, following a cross from Jonathan Clauss.

Lyon responded quickly in the first half, with Pavel Schult equalizing in the 33rd minute and Tanner Tessmann scoring a header in the 36th minute to complete a three-minute turnaround. Despite playing with ten men for the final 20 minutes after Keito Nakamura received a direct red card in the 70th minute, Lyon maintained their lead.

Nice attempted a late comeback, with Wahi hitting the post and scoring a goal in stoppage time that was ultimately disallowed by VAR for offside. With this win, Lyon reaches 14 points, placing them at the top of the table on goal difference ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.
