Olympique Lyonnais seeks player sales following Champions League exit
Olympique Lyonnais faces significant financial pressure following their elimination from the Champions League playoffs by Fenerbahçe. The exit results in the loss of at least 23 million euros in participation bonuses, forcing the club to increase its planned player sales from 25 million to approximately 50 million euros to satisfy financial regulators.
Belgian winger Malick Fofana has emerged as a primary candidate for transfer. Interest in the player has intensified, with Inter Milan reportedly making initial contacts and AS Roma previously eyeing an operation worth around 40 million euros. RB Leipzig has also expressed interest.
Other players potentially facing departure to help balance the books include Czech attacking midfielder Pavel Sulc, Dutch defender Ruben Kluivert, and American defensive midfielder Tanner Tessmann, with several valued at approximately 20 million euros each.
