Keito Nakamura joins Olympique Lyonnais from Stade de Reims

Olympique Lyonnais has officially announced the signing of Japanese international Keito Nakamura from Stade de Reims. The 26-year-old winger has signed a four-year contract that runs until June 30, 2030.

Nakamura becomes the first Japanese player in the history of Olympique Lyonnais. He will wear the number 11 shirt. The transfer was completed using a special “joker” rule in France, which allows clubs to register one player after the official transfer window has closed.

The financial terms of the deal include a fixed transfer fee of 1 million euros, with variable bonuses that could reach up to 19 million euros. Additionally, Stade de Reims is entitled to a maximum of 12.5% of any future profit from a subsequent sale.

Nakamura joins Lyon following a successful period at Stade de Reims, where he scored 30 goals in 97 appearances. He also recently represented Japan in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His arrival follows the departure of Malick Fofana to Sunderland.
