Om Birla calls nation-building a collective effort

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla stated that nation-building is a collective effort involving citizens, voluntary organizations, and social institutions. Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Maheshwari Ayurveda Vigyan evam Anusandhan Kendra in Jaipur, Birla emphasized that contributions to society and the nation should not be measured solely by economic value, but also through hard work, dedication, professional skills, knowledge, and selfless service.

Reflecting on the challenges posed by the pandemic, Birla noted that India derives strength from its collective social consciousness and tradition of mutual care. He highlighted the Indian ideal of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ as a source of moral strength and resilience.

Birla also commended the Maheshwari Samaj for its legacy of service and its historical contributions to education and the Indian independence movement, noting their long-standing commitment to social responsibility.
