Om Birla pushes for two new athletics tracks at Kota stadium to boost sports infrastructure

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla met with Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi on 5 August. The high‑level discussion focused on expanding sports infrastructure in Kota, Rajasthan, including a plan to construct two new athletics tracks at the Kota stadium and to modernise existing facilities so the city can host national and international events.

The officials also addressed healthcare infrastructure at the Employees State Insurance (ESI) hospital in Kota, urging the rapid filling of vacant posts and the acquisition of state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic equipment. Both leaders emphasized prioritising the projects and pledged central government support to transform Kota into a major sports hub.
