OM System PEN mirrorless camera announced with EVF and weather sealing

OM Digital Solutions has announced the OM SYSTEM PEN, the first camera in the historic PEN series to be released under the OM SYSTEM brand. Designed with a rangefinder-inspired aesthetic, the compact Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera is aimed at both beginners and enthusiasts for travel and everyday photography.

Key technical upgrades include the addition of a 2.36 million-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) and IPX1-rated dust and splash resistance, marking the first time the PEN series has featured these capabilities. The camera is powered by a 20.4-megapixel Live MOS sensor and a TruePic IX image processor, featuring 5-axis in-body image stabilization providing up to 5.5 stops of compensation.

Creative features include a dedicated ‘CP’ button for computational photography modes—such as high-resolution shots, HDR, and focus stacking—and a ‘Profile Control’ switch for adjusting color and monochrome profiles. The camera also utilizes AI-based subject detection for humans and animals. The OM SYSTEM PEN is expected to launch in late October 2026, with body-only prices starting around $999/€999.
