Łomża residential project faces military security concerns

A dispute has emerged in Łomża regarding the planned construction of a five-story, 16-meter residential building located between an active farm and a military complex. The project has faced significant opposition following a negative opinion from the Regional Infrastructure Management in Olsztyn (RZI).

The RZI raised security concerns, stating that the height and proximity of the building to the military site could allow for the surveillance and unauthorized documentation of military operations. This assessment has been submitted to the Local Appeal Body as new evidence in the ongoing proceedings.

In addition to security risks, the local farmer, who operates a cattle and pig farm, expressed concerns regarding future conflicts with new residents over noise, odors, and machinery operation. The dispute also involves challenges regarding access to official documents and the impact of the city's General Plan on the future of the agricultural business.
