Oman bans hazardous toys after safety alerts

Oman's Consumer Protection Authority warned that a Flying Tiger Copenhagen xylophone toy poses a choking risk because its metal bars can detach. The authority said the product remains on shelves but parents should inspect it and avoid use.

The Omani Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment also prohibited the sale and use of the Na Na Na Surprise interactive doll (model 3435) after tests found hazardous chemicals. Owners are instructed to discard the toys, identified by serial number 6991205071633, following a GCC Agile‑system notification. Both actions form part of a wider regional effort to curb unsafe children’s products, which earlier saw recalls in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait.
