Oman expands clean energy manufacturing and urban development projects

Oman is advancing its economic diversification through significant investments in clean energy manufacturing and urban tourism infrastructure. The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones & Free Zones (OPAZ) is focusing on expanding renewable energy capabilities, with plans for solar and wind manufacturing facilities in the SOHAR Freezone and Duqm. This initiative aims to support the national target of increasing the renewable energy share of the electricity supply to 30% by 2030.

In Muscat, the municipality has unveiled 12 new development opportunities designed to attract private investment. These include four major waterfront projects in Qurum, Muttrah, Seeb, and Qurayyat, which will feature promenades, commercial spaces, and public parks. Other highlighted projects include the Al Thalath development, featuring a four-star hotel and office space, and the Bousher Dunes leisure destination.
