Oman International Financial Centre targets 2027 launch

The International Financial Centre of Oman is advancing preparations to begin full operations by 2027. The Centre is currently establishing its legal, regulatory, and operational frameworks, which will include a package of laws governing the registration and licensing of establishments, the regulation of financial services, and an independent dispute resolution system.

Mahmoud bin Abdullah Al-Awaini, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stated that the Centre is progressing toward completing its legislative frameworks and digital infrastructure. A digital registration system is expected to enter a testing phase shortly to allow companies to submit applications electronically. The Centre has also increased international engagement and recently secured membership in the World Alliance of International Financial Centres.
