Oman launches Muscat Maritime Resilience Framework

The Muscat Maritime Resilience Forum 2026 has concluded, establishing the foundation for the Muscat Maritime Resilience Framework. This initiative, led by the Asyad Group in partnership with the Oman Investment Authority and the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, aims to create the world’s first fully integrated maritime resilience framework.

The framework seeks to safeguard global supply chains and sustain trade amid increasing operational and commercial pressures. Discussions at the forum focused on eight core sectors: marine resources, infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, supply chains, logistics services, proactive readiness, platforms, and networks.

Asyad Group Chief Executive Abdulrahman bin Salim al Hatmi noted that the framework will address challenges regarding costs and business continuity. An Asyad operational study highlighted the economic volatility in the sector, noting a 137 per cent variation in the total cost of maritime voyages between India and Suhar.
