Oman Police and Zimbabwe Authorities Dismantle Human Trafficking and Drug Smuggling Ring

INTERPOL praised the Royal Oman Police for breaking an international criminal network that trafficked a victim from Zimbabwe to Oman under a false job offer and forced the person to swallow drug‑filled capsules for cross‑border smuggling. The operation began in June after Zimbabwean police alerted INTERPOL and Omani authorities. A rapid joint investigation led to the arrest of four suspects, the seizure of the narcotics and the rescue of the victim, who was made to expel the drugs upon arrival in Oman.

The case highlights cooperation between law‑enforcement agencies in Oman and Zimbabwe, with INTERPOL providing coordination and support to combat organised crime, human trafficking and illicit drug trafficking across borders.
