Oman sees 11% rise in Indian tourist arrivals

Indian tourist arrivals to Oman increased by 11 per cent in 2025, according to Yousuf Khalaf Al Mujaizi, Assistant Director of Business Development at Oman’s Tourism Promotion Directorate. The Sultanate welcomed 6.94 lakh Indian visitors during 2025, a rise compared to 2024 figures.

The growth trend continued into the first half of 2026, with 3.81 lakh Indian arrivals registered between January and June. Officials attribute this surge to improved air connectivity, including direct services from more than 10 Indian cities to Muscat and expanding links to Salalah.

This increase is viewed as an evolution of long-standing historical ties between India and Oman, moving from maritime commerce toward a structured tourism partnership involving airlines, media, and travel industry stakeholders.
