Oman to develop four industrial cities under 2026-2030 plan

Oman is advancing the development of four new industrial cities as part of its 11th Five-Year Development Plan for 2026-2030. These projects are designed to align with the strategic priorities of Oman Vision 2040.

The new industrial hubs will be located across the Musandam, North Al Batinah, North A’Sharqiyah, and Dhofar Governorates. Specifically, the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) plans to develop integrated cities in A’Suwaiq (12.2 million sqm), Al Mudhaibi (nearly 9 million sqm), Thumrait (4 million sqm), and Madha (360,000 sqm).

According to Khalid Sulaiman Al Salehi, Director General of Marketing and Commercial Affairs for Madayn, these projects aim to strengthen industrial infrastructure, support economic diversification, attract both local and foreign investment, and create job opportunities. The development strategy focuses on empowering the private sector, supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources and renewable energy.
