Omani Foreign Minister arrives in Pakistan for bilateral talks

Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for a two-day official visit to Pakistan. At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Albusaidi will co-chair the eighth session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).

The visit aims to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation across various sectors. During his stay, Albusaidi is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with Minister Dar and pay a courtesy call to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The diplomatic mission occurs amid heightened regional tensions in the Middle East, including concerns regarding the Strait of Hormuz and hostilities involving Houthi attacks. Both nations have a history of participating in mediation efforts to address regional disputes and secure vital energy shipping routes.
