Senator and Amazonas gubernatorial candidate Omar Aziz was treated at Hospital Samel in downtown Manaus on Saturday after experiencing sudden malaise. While initial reports suggested a potential cardiac issue, Aziz clarified via social media that the incident was caused by severe heatstroke due to prolonged sun exposure during his campaign activities.

Aziz received intravenous hydration and was subsequently released to return home. He used the opportunity to advise the public to stay hydrated, noting the high temperatures in the region. He indicated that he intends to continue his political campaign as planned.
