Omar Aziz unveils Amazonas strategic development plan

Omar Aziz has presented his Strategic Development Plan for Amazonas, which focuses on technological modernization, bioeconomy, and education. The plan includes specific pillars for science, technology, and artificial intelligence, alongside efforts to promote the sustainable use of natural resources through the development of phytopharmaceuticals and forest-based innovation.

In terms of infrastructure and economy, the proposal aims to modernize regional logistics and defend the competitiveness of the Manaus Free Trade Zone amidst tax reform impacts. Regarding public safety, the plan advocates for a new territorialization strategy and the revival of the Ronda Amazonas program.

A key educational component is a proposed pact to ensure children are literate by the second grade. This initiative involves collaboration between the state and 62 municipalities, providing teaching materials, continuous professional training, and periodic assessments. The plan also emphasizes teacher valuation, functional progression, and the expansion of full-time schooling accompanied by improved school infrastructure.
