Omar Bonacci dies after traffic altercation in Santo Tomé

Omar Bonacci, a 72-year-old former treasurer of Club Atlético Colón and local businessman, died Monday night following a violent altercation triggered by a traffic accident in Santo Tomé, Santa Fe.

The incident occurred around 10:20 PM when Bonacci’s Toyota Yaris collided with a Motomel Blitz motorcycle. While the initial collision did not cause injuries, a verbal dispute between the drivers escalated into a physical fight. Preliminary police reports indicate that a 35-year-old motorcyclist kicked Bonacci, causing him to fall heavily and strike his head against the pavement.

Emergency services attempted to assist Bonacci, but he passed away while being transported to the local Samco health center. The motorcyclist, identified by the initials M. A., has been detained. Prosecutor Gonzalo Iglesias is leading the investigation, which includes an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and clarify the circumstances of the fatal fall.
