Omar Fernández urged to lead support front for Leonel Fernández

Journalist Joel Suero has proposed that Senator Omar Fernández take a more active political role by leading a support front for the presidential pre-candidacy of Leonel Fernández. This initiative would also encompass other candidacies within the Fuerza del Pueblo party.

Speaking on the program ‘Juego Político’, Suero argued that while Omar Fernández possesses significant popularity, he requires a stronger political presence to secure his positioning. Suero suggested that such a move would provide a sense of freshness to Leonel Fernández’s political profile while simultaneously creating a favorable landscape for Omar Fernández regarding the 2028 electoral cycle. Suero concluded that the Senator should expand his influence beyond his current legislative duties in the Senate.
