Omar González criticizes U.S. strategy toward Venezuela

Omar González, a national leader of Vente Venezuela, has criticized the United States' current strategy toward Venezuela, describing it as an uncertain “experiment” that risks failure.

González, who recently returned to the country after a year of exile, suggested that the U.S. administration appears to be torn between defending democratic principles and pursuing economic interests related to oil. He expressed concern that Washington may be prioritizing petroleum interests over the restoration of democratic institutions.

He specifically questioned the continued presence of Delcy Rodríguez in power and noted that the current regime utilizes national resources to delay political processes. González highlighted that the ongoing systemic crisis, characterized by power outages, lack of investment, and insufficient wages, continues to severely impact the Venezuelan population and productive sectors.
