Omar Montes to seek joint custody following child support ruling

Spanish singer Omar Montes is facing a new legal development regarding child support for his eldest son. Following a ruling by the Family Court in Alcobendas, Madrid, Montes's monthly child support payments will increase from 650 euros to 2,000 euros. The court determined this adjustment was necessary to align the child's standard of living with his father's current wealth. In addition to the monthly payment, which will be adjusted according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), Montes must cover extraordinary expenses and the full cost of private medical insurance.

In response to the judicial decision, Montes has announced his intention to seek joint custody of his 14-year-old son. He expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling, suggesting that the legal proceedings are driven by economic interests rather than the child's welfare. Montes stated that he feels his role as a father is being questioned, despite his assertion that he always acts in the best interest of his children.
