Ombudsman Institution upholds teacher disciplinary penalty in Ümraniye

The Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye has rejected an appeal from a primary school teacher in the Ümraniye district of Istanbul regarding a disciplinary penalty. The teacher had been sanctioned following an incident involving an interaction with a student from a different classroom.

The disciplinary process, which initially resulted in a reprimand that was later converted to a warning, was found to be in accordance with both procedure and substance. The Ombudsman's decision, dated October 1, 2026, upheld the legality of the sanctions applied to the educator.
