Omega Subsea and DeepOcean announce major offshore cable service developments
Omega Subsea has secured a five-year contract with NKT to provide ROV services for the newbuild cable-laying vessel Eleonora. This follows a previous five-year agreement for the NKT Victoria. Mobilization is currently underway at shipyards in Ulsteinvik and Brattvåg as part of Omega Subsea’s expansion into the offshore cable installation sector.
Separately, DeepOcean and the controlling entity of TFKable Group—which includes Tele-Fonika Kable and JDR Cable Systems—have formed a joint venture to provide integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) services. The partnership focuses on inter-array cable projects within the offshore wind sector and includes plans for a newbuild, dedicated inter-array cable-laying vessel. The collaboration aims to combine TFKable Group’s manufacturing capabilities with DeepOcean’s expertise in offshore engineering and seabed intervention to create a more efficient delivery model for wind developers.
