Omer Shem Tov releases memoir on 505 days in Hamas captivity

Former hostage Omer Shem Tov has released a Hebrew-language book titled ‘A Meeting with Myself in Hell,’ documenting his 505 days in captivity in Gaza following his abduction by Hamas on October 7.

Shem Tov recounts the harrowing details of his imprisonment, including a period of 50 days spent in complete isolation within a dark cell. He describes how his faith and the internal freedom to choose his thoughts and beliefs allowed him to persevere through the unbearable conditions of the Hamas tunnels.

The memoir serves as a record of both the traumatic events of his captivity and the personal realizations and spiritual strength that helped him survive the ordeal.
