Omiš association seeks data on August fire response

The association ‘Volim Omiš’ has submitted formal requests for information to six competent institutions regarding the management of the major fires that occurred in the Omiš and Lokva Rogoznica areas on August 13 and 14.

The association is seeking detailed documentation to reconstruct the timeline of events, including the initial fire reports, evacuation procedures, and the deployment of firefighting forces. Specific interest is placed on the use of the 112 emergency system and whether the SRUUK system was considered for activation.

Furthermore, the requests seek data concerning the closure and reopening of the DC553 state road, including the timing of decisions, official notes, and communication between authorities. The inquiries have been directed to the Ministry of the Interior, the Civil Protection Directorate, the Split-Dalmatia Police Administration, Croatian Roads, the Croatian Firefighting Association, Split-Dalmatia County, and the City of Omiš.
