Omiš wildfire: Three dead and five critical 50 days after blaze

Fifty days after the devastating wildfire in Lokva Rogoznica near Omiš, the human toll remains significant. The fire, which broke out late at night, destroyed over 1,000 hectares of land, 58 houses, 39 vehicles, and 25 vessels. Three people lost their lives: a seasonal worker from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a retired firefighter from Omiš, and a 58-year-old woman.

Medical facilities continue to treat several critically injured survivors. At KBC Split, two patients remain in intensive care in serious but stable condition, requiring ongoing surgical care and intensive treatment. In Zagreb, three patients are being treated at KBC Sestre milosrdnice; one remains in critical condition requiring mechanical ventilation, blood pressure medication, and dialysis.

A 17-year-old girl who sustained severe injuries is currently in the rehabilitation phase at the Children's Hospital in Zagreb and is expected to be discharged to home care soon.
