Omišalj to host 21st BIG OM International Big Game Fishing Cup

Omišalj will host the 21st BIG OM International Big Game Fishing Cup from August 26 to 30. The competition takes place in the waters of the Kvarner Gulf and Kvarnerić, with the main port and land-based activities centered in Omišalj.

The event is expected to attract over 130 competitors from more than 30 crews, representing Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia. Tuna remains the central focus of the competition.

This year's event is held as the Bruno Dragičević Memorial Tournament. As part of the Offshore World Championship (OWC) system, the winning crew will earn the right to compete in the World Cup in Costa Rica. The tournament will be monitored by scientific institutions, the Croatian Sport Fishing Federation, and the fisheries inspection to ensure professional standards.
